Please note that the restaurant will be closed for renovation from August 28 to September 2, 2014. We look forward to welcome you in a new setting, from September 3 at noon.

    The François-Xavier Bagnoud Association

    The Hotel Bristol Geneva works in close partnership with the François-Xavier Bagnoud Association

    The association was created in 1989 by the Countess Albina du Boisrouvray and stands in support of the struggle against poverty and AIDS.

    It works within the most fragile of communities, supporting orphans and children made vulnerable by the disease.

    This is a cause very close to our hearts.

    Generations of Cultural Heritage

    Over time, the Hotel Bristol Geneva has forged its very own discreet, yet high-quality identity.

    Built from 1851 onwards, on land where ancient fortifications once stood, the hotel is now one of the most prestigious buildings on Geneva’s Mont- Blanc square. In 1896, it became known as the ‘Hotel Bristol’ (it was formerly named the ‘Pension Roth’) and thanks to the efforts of the Leppin family, the owners for almost three-quarters of a century, it went on to become a hotel of outstanding reputation.     to Count Guy de Jacquelot-du-Boisrouvray.

    In 1976, the Count entrusted the management of the hotel to the ‘Société d’Exploitation et de Gestion Hôtelière’ (SEGH - a hotel and property management corporation) which also manages the Hotel Eden in Geneva.

    Upon the death of the Count, the Countess Albina du Boisrouvray, his daughter, who is also the founder of the François-Xavier Bagnoud Association, became the owner of the SEGH and President of its Board of Directors.

    The Hotel's Evolution

    From 1981 onwards, the hotel underwent some major renovation and construction work.

    The 'Société d’Exploitation et de Gestion Hôtelière' bought the adjoining building, allowing them to add a further 30 rooms to the hotel and create a new restaurant, currently considered one of the best in Geneva. This extension project also included the addition of a piano bar, a spa with its very own gym, two Jacuzzis, a steam room and two saunas. Today, the Hotel Bristol has been able to retain its historic and authentic feel while still providing the comfort and quality of service for which it is renowned.
